First Pow Day of the Year at Heavenly - The Storm that Saved Christmas

After the first storm fled South and pummeled Mammoth, we were praying the next one would come through.  Thankfully, it did!  Just in time for the Christmas crowds.     

Here's the forecast that put global warming out of our minds: 

Work was looking rather unproductive.

So we drove up some nasty roads to the CA base lodge where at 9:00 AM the line up for Gunbarrel was surprisingly light....and the snowfall was heavy:

I'm saving this one for something incriminating.  Do you know how hard it is to get a gaper picture of Zippy on skis!?

A few laps later we hit Powderbowl where it was nice and deep:

Then one of those strange and amazing things happened.  It went from 2"/hour snowfall to glowing blue skies in less than 10 minutes.  I love Tahoe.
