May Pow Day at the Wood

Joe, Zaq

Kirkwood on the eve of Cinco De Mayo, closed due to...lack of snowpack?

These little April and May storms are not doing us any favors at work.  So Zaq and I headed to the hills to see if there was a silver lining to all of these storms.  Zaq was down to hike, but he insisted on Kirkwood.  A devoted man he is.  We had our sights set on the Cirque, but trail breaking in 12" of new snow and a late start had us "settle" for a fun run down Wagon Wheel bowl instead....but we finished it off with an untracked drain!

First.....the future of Kirkwood:

I was hoping to send Zippy to the class advertised by the blue banner, but no one was around...

Getting better up high...

I have to admit this view looks really good.  Especially since there are not a thousand other bro's racing for freshies:

Zippy at a relaxed pace:

And it's good to go:

My insane tracks in the lower gully:

Zippy in da house:

Zippy has a fetish for icicles:

To the Drain!

Nice way to finish the work week on a Friday afternoon.  I made it back home in time for the uber important dance recital.
