ROAD CYCLING PAGE By my bro: Paul Stewart
Paul cranking up the last stretch of the 5th pass (Carson) on the Death Ride - July 8th, 2006
I haven't done any road riding since I was a teenager. But my brother Paul rides the El Dorado foothills and Sierra passes like a maniac. He has spent a lot of time learning his way through some of the most beautiful and challenging foothill roads in the El Dorado County gold country. He lives to make huge efforts on nutty rides like "The World's Toughest Century" and "The Death Ride". Here's a picture of Paul during a snowy mountain bike ride we took from Armstrong Pass to Toads in the Fall - he's going to be the main dude on this page:
Paul rides with a Ciclometer bicycle computer. It not only gages his speed and distance, it also measures the grades and elevation change. With his software, he is able to produce really cool graphs of his rides. Paul never takes a camera along, but with a little pressure he agreed to do it once in a while and send in some pictures.
