February 22, 23, 24, 2007 South Shore Satisfaction - Big Storm = Muy Bueno Powder Joe and Friends Thursday, 2/22 - The storm day. Zippy and I escaped work for an hour or so and found 18"+ of fresh in Killibrew Canyon at the Heave. It was bony but super light and serving face shots on each turn. B&W Photos by Zaq:
Friday, 2/23 - The Day after. Powderhouse skin tract was punched in by a few folks who were out ahead of our early Dawn Patrol arrival. Thank God! The skiing was once again insane. It was actually almost too deep! Well, that's not possible. But it had to be steep to make it fun. No action pictures were taken during the sipping of one of the best cups of coffee of the year. Myself, Zaq, Jim M, Tyler, Chad, Brendan and Toby were the giddy ones on the summit that morning.
Saturday, 2/24 - FLAGPOLE. Toby, Brandon and I punched in a serious skin track through 1'-2' deep consolidating powder (and that was the easy part). The lower slopes were still riddled with hollow Manzanita bushes and other invisible enemies. A climb that can usually be done in a little over an hour, took us 2 hours today. But the skiing was well worth it. We did two laps on the upper mountain in "mistakes don't matter" deep sumptuous pow.

And another storm is already beginning to dump it's load over Tahoe! THANK YOU FINALLY.
